An old video of Beninese singer-songwriter, Angelique Kidjo, in Lagos has resurfaced days after her fourth Grammy win for Best World Music Album category.
The 59-year-old, in the video, made a stop at Smooth FM in Lagos.
“Eku ile. Se eji daada gbogboyin?” Kidjo says on arrival in Yoruba which translated means “Hope you woke up on the bright side.”
She is heard in the video saying the last time she was in Lagos she was 13.
Asa, who was also at the radio station at the time, shared a passionate hug with Kidjo.
During her acceptance speech at the 2020 Grammys, Kidjo dedicated the award to Burna Boy and celebrated a new generation of African artistes coming up to represent the continent.
Burna Boy has thanked her for the gesture, saying he loves her forever.
