Super Eagles striker, Victor Anichebe, has confirmed his imminent exit from West Bromwich Albion after the club decided not to renew his contract.
The 28-year-old Nigerian took to social media on Monday to confirm his exit.
“Thank you to all the @WBAFCofficial fans for the support during my time at the club! I wish you all the best for the future. God bless,” he wrote on Twitter.
Anichebe was signed from Everton for £6m in the summer of 2013, but his Baggies career has been plagued with injuries.
He scored nine goals in 63 appearances for the club, 31 of which were starts.
West Brom are planning to overhaul their attacking options this summer, and hope to bring in at least two new strikers.
Anichebe’s departure could be followed by the sale of Saido Berahino, leaving just Salomon Rondon and Rickie Lambert up front.
