Annie finally speaks, drops Idibia from name

Annie Idibia

Actress Annie Idibia has made her first social media post since her estranged husband, 2Baba, publicly confirmed their separation, referring to herself as Annie Uwana Macaulay.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Annie shared a picture of a flower alongside a message of gratitude to her supporters.

“To my family, to my friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family HERE and all over the world. God bless you for the outpouring of love.

“I appreciate every single one of you, and I do not take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. God bless you all. Lots of LOVE. Annie Uwana Macaulay,” she wrote.

QED.ng had earlier reported that the actress wiped her entire Instagram page clean before making her post, marking a fresh start amid her ongoing marital crisis.

The social media reset happened early Thursday, just days after her estranged husband, singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, was spotted shopping at a luxury boutique with Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

Annie has remained low-key since news of their separation broke in January, with reports suggesting she was undergoing rehab.

Back in January, 2Baba shocked fans by announcing on Instagram, “I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and currently filed for divorce.”

Though he later deleted the post, he reaffirmed it in a live video, stating, “No one hacked my account. I said what I said. I come in peace.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, later unfollowed each other on social media, further confirming their split.

Another viral clip in February showed 2Baba proposing to Natasha Osawaru, sparking mixed reactions online.
