Eight months after Olajumoke Orisaguna was transformed from a bread seller to a model, City photographer and publisher, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, has discovered another model on the streets of Lagos.
The circumstances of Bolaji’s discovery are similar to that of Olajumoke whose story captured global attention after she was randomly photographed with British-Nigerian rapper, Tinie Tempah, during a photoshoot by TY Bello.
Narrating his experience in a Facebook post on Friday, Amadi-Obi, editor-in-chief of Mania magazine, wrote “Some weeks back I was shooting @jidenna on Broad street Lagos and in between takes I saw her across the street selling pillows.”
Unlike TY Bello who launched an internet search for Olajumoke after she photobombed her photoshoot in Yaba, Amadi-Obi said he immediately called Bolaji and give her his number.
“If you’re interested in modeling please give me a call,” he told her.
She did call.
“Well she came to the studio and I called my number one MUA (make-up artist) @bimpeonakoya and this is what we came up with.
“I think she will make a great model. What do you think?” he concluded.
Amadi-Obi himself is a lawyer turned photographer and painter.
His works have been featured in exhibitions within and outside Nigeria.
Some of his clients include Guinness, MTN, PZ, British American Tobacco, The Ford Foundation, PrimaGarnet Ogilvy, SO&U, Nigerian Flour Mills and Orange Drugs.
