Anti-protest groups on Thursday clashed with protesters calling on the government to address hunger and hardship.
Around 9:35 am, at least 11 buses filled with ‘No protest’ protesters arrived at the premises of Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on the first day of the 10-day protests.
Premium Times said it gathered they were promised N5,000 each to participate in the anti-protest.
Two members of the group claimed they were picked up from Asokoro Village.
One of the participants, who identified himself as Sabi’u, told the online newspaper that they were given N2,000 and would be paid the remaining amount (N3,000) after the protests.
In Lagos, one anti-protest group also clashed with protesters in the Ojota area of the state.
The protesters are calling on President Bola Tinubu to reverse certain policies believed to be behind the harsh economy.
