The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of the primary election to elect the party’s candidate for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.
A statement by the party’s national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Wednesday disclosed that the exercise has been postponed from Thursday, July 19 to Friday, 20 2018.
However, a meeting between the primary election committee chaired by Governor Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State and stakeholders will hold at the Osun State capital, Oshogbo on Thursday.
Osun APC spokesman, Kunle Oyatomi, had earlier told journalists that the party regretted the postponement.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, says the party will pick its candidate through direct primary.
