The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has suspended the deputy governor of the state, Simon Achuba.
Kogi APC chairman, Abdullahi Bello, said on Thursday that Achuba was suspended for alleged anti-party activities before, during and after the 2019 general elections.

Bello said the party received petitions from stakeholders in Iyano ward, Achuba’s hometown in Ibaji Local Government Area.
Achuba had accused the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, of being after his life.
He alleged that Bello had sent gunmen to kill him, adding that the governor had withheld the payment of his allowances amounting to N800 million.
The Kogi APC chairman said Achuba was indicted by the disciplinary committee constituted by the Iyano ward and Ibaji LGA.
He added that the committee recommended Achuba’s suspension to be followed by expulsion if he does not show remorse.
“As we are all aware, the All Progressives Congress does not condone acts of indiscipline, indiscretion and anti-party activities from any party member, no matter how highly placed.
“His series of reckless, damaging and unsubstantiated allegations against government of Kogi state was an action that constitute a serious violation of Article 21A(ii), (v) and (vii) of the APC constitution, amount, amounting to acts of disloyalty and embarrassment to the party,” Bello said.

He added that the decision of the state working committee would be communicated to the APC National Working Committee in due course.
Kogi State House of Assembly has already begun the process for Achuba’s impeachment.
