Ghanaian actress and media personality Akuapem Poloo has charged Ghanaian artistes to wake up after Nigerian singers Wizkid and Burna Boy won at the 2021 Grammy awards held on Sunday.
Akuapem gave her charge in a video she posted on Instagram on Monday.
“So where my Ghana artistes at? Now hide your face. We don’t go to Grammy with big mansions. Yes, you need to work hard. You see how Wizkid and Burna Boy have made their country proud?
“You always brag – my new mansion, my new G-Wagon, my new Jaguar. Who told you we use mansions to win Grammies? Work hard, that’s what we need,” she said in the video.
Some of Ghana’s top pop artistes include Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
