Former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has congratulated the former managing director of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bayo Onanuga, on his 62nd birthday.
Mr Onanuga, who clocked 62 on Thursday, said on social media that he would not be celebrating but would instead “reflect on the anomalies of life.”
He said: “As usual, I am not celebrating. I chose to reflect on the anomalies of life, how sometimes our kindness attracts ingratitude, our goodness wickedness, of how people we trust can be the same that will plot our downfall and join in the backstabbing.”
Mr Aregbesola, in a tweet on Thursday, congratulated Onanuga “for the gift of a healthy and purposeful life.”
He added: “No looking back pal. It is forward ever, till victory always. Happy birthday Alajobi.”
Onanuga, a former editor-in-chief of TheNews and Tempo magazines, in May attributed his success to his wife of 30 years, Toyin Onanuga.
Onanuga heaped praises on his wife in a post on Facebook.
“Whatever I am today, I thank her for it. And I hope both of us will still be around for many more years in love and harmony,” he wrote about his wife.
