Broadcaster Kayode Akintemi has been announced as the managing director of News Central TV.
The news channel said in a statement on Monday that Mr Akintemi is expected to take the broadcast station to a new level of development and innovation.
Akintemi was one time the general manager of Channels TV, the managing director and editor-in-chief of Plus TV Africa and an executive director at Arise TV.
Speaking on the appointment, Akintemi said, “I am honoured to join the News Central team. I look forward to working closely with our dedicated journalists and staff to deliver news and content that informs, engages, and empowers our audience, strategically improve the calibre of content and programming with a keen focus on the Nigerian landscape and Africa at large.”

Akintemi hosted special interviews on BEN Television London, Sky Channel 184 for several years before returning to Nigeria to join Channels Television in March 2011 as the general manager in charge of operations and was responsible for the core broadcast operations of the station.
He started his broadcasting career as presenter of Teen and Twenty Beats with Radio Nigeria-2 AM/FM in Lagos in the 1980s. Between 1987 and 1993, he worked with Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC). He was a lecturer of radio/TV programmes production at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, and managed Ogun State Television (OGTV) corps of presenters and newscasters, as head of presentation, presenting, producing/directing numerous television programmes.
