The remains of Alhaja Jelilat Arisekola-Alao, the eldest wife of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao, were on Wednesday afternoon committed to mother earth at the Oluyole Estate Extension house of her son, Abdulahi.
The deceased died in an auto accident on Tuesday in Eyenkorin, near Ilorin, Kwara State while going for a medical check-up.
The body of the late Alhaja Jelilat arrived the venue of the burial round 4pm to the waiting hands of sympathisers, who were weeping, wailing and mourning the departed soul.
The Janazah prayer was conducted by Alhaji Mustapha Akuru, the Chief Imam of Arisekola-Alao Central Mosque, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking at the burial ceremony, Akuru, who spoke about the virtues of the deceased, urged those present to live a good life because death comes without giving any notice.
“Death is an inevitable end for every human being and we must prepare for it at any time,” he said.
Among the dignitaries present at the burial were Florence Ajimobi, wife of the state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi; Alhaji Rasheed Adesokan, the Balogun Mumuni of Yorubaland; and Murziq Siyanbade, the Secretary General of the Muslim Community of Oyo State.
Others were Hon. Faruk Arisekola-Alao, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Oyo State; Dr. Kamil Oloso; and Soji Adejumo, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo State.
The deceased was survived by Abdulahi and Fatimah Arisekola-Alao.
It would be recalled that AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao died two weeks ago in his London house at the age of 69.
