Nigeria’s first female officer to be trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom Second Lt. Princess Owowoh has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
Owowoh was decorated on Wednesday at the Nigerian Defence Academy Officer’s Mess and Golf Club.
NDA commandant Maj. Gen. J.O Ochai praised Owowoh for her hard work.
He said her track record of excellence earned her the privilege of becoming the first female Nigerian to be trained at the Royal Military Academy and promotion to the new rank.
The event was attended by senior military officers, academic and non-academic staff, and family members, among others.
The 24-year-old made history in April when she became the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the UK academy.
