Arsene Wenger is top of Fenerbahce’s managerial wishlist as pressure grows on Phillip Cocu, according to reports in Turkey.
The Arsenal legend, who stepped down from his role at the Emirates after 22 years last season, hasn’t officially retired from football management.
It’s not yet clear whether the Frenchman would consider taking the job, and as things stand Cocu is still in charge.
But the Dutchman is under increasing pressure at the moment having guided his side to just one victory in their last five matches.
If Wenger was to take the job, should it become free, then he could possibly come up against Arsenal in the Europa League this season.
Wenger revealed he has no plans to retire from football just yet shortly after standing down as Gunners boss.
Back in May, he said: “At the moment I do my job, keep my routine and focus on what I have to do every day. At the moment I work like ever. You are never sure you do the right thing, but life is interesting because you have to deal with different situations.”
