Singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has responded to allegations made by his father, Fatai Odunsi, also known as Malo, who accused him of neglecting him while he battles a stroke.

Qed.ng earlier reported that Odunsi appeared in a video claiming to be Asake’s father while appealing for financial help for his condition.

“The last time I set my eyes on him was March 2022 when my sickness started. If I call Asake, he won’t pick. Please help me, it is your help that I need,” he said.

Reacting in a video shared on TikTok, Asake stated that it is impossible to satisfy everyone. He claimed that he had sent money to his father multiple times, but Odunsi still tried to manipulate him.

“You can’t please everyone, you can’t please the world. But anything you are doing, just do it for God. My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him. I have struggled for so many years, but they want to make life tire me,” he said.

Asake years back spoke about his love for music, revealing that both his parents had an artistic background.

“I fell in love with theatre as a child; my father used to be a singer, and my mother dances a lot, so it’s a family thing. Although my parents didn’t do it professionally, they only did it for the fun of it,” he once said.

The singer also explained that his stage name, Asake, is derived from his mother’s name.

“I love my mother and the fact that people call her my mother’s name through me,” he said in a past interview.

Asake has not made further statements regarding his father’s claims.
