Senior pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London Matthew Ashimolowo and his wife Yemisi have clocked 40 years together as a married couple.
Ashimolowo, on Monday, shared photos on social media of the celebration held the previous day.
He said in his Instagram post that he was so touched by the love and gifts from relatives, friends and well-wishers.
“I would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, prayers and well wishes, celebrating me and my wife’s 40th Anniversary,” he wrote.
“We were so touched and we are so thankful for all the love and gifts in cash and kind. We had a wonderful time at IGOC and celebrating with my family.”
Ashimolowo and his wife are blessed with children and grandchildren. His wife is a resident pastor of KICC Walthamstow, London and head of KICC Winning Women Ministry.
In a 2014 interview with City People, she said she never envisaged marrying a pastor especially as she was the daughter of a pastor.
“Marrying a pastor was the last thing in my mind. Because my dad is a pastor and as a pastor’s daughter, I dreaded marrying a pastor. My dad has two brothers that are pastors also but of different denominations. I never really wanted to marry a pastor but God knows the plans He has for our lives,” she said.
