Ediri Ohonre, one of the suspected killers of Letitia Dagan an assistant director of administration, Aso Presidential Villa, Abuja has been charged to court.
Ohonre is facing three counts of criminal conspiracy, homicide and arson before a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.
She risks the death penalty if convicted.
Ms Dagan was raped and murdered in her apartment on Efab Estate, Galadimawa, Abuja, three hours after closing from work on February 17, 2020.
Police detectives successfully tracked down two suspects using a phone left at the crime scene.
In the charges filed by the legal officer, FCT Police Command, D. Abbah, dated December 1, Ohonre was alleged to have conspired with Lucky Amoikhe, Billion Badidi and one Tony, who were still at large, to kill Dagan.
One of the charges reads, “That you, Ediri Ohonre, 30, of Efab Estate, Abuja, on or about February 17, 2020, at about 11pm., at House 1, Road 22, Efab Estate, Lokogoma, FCT, Abuja, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, committed a criminal offence, to wit: criminal conspiracy to commit the offence of culpable homicide punishable with death.”
Police said they are making efforts to arrest the other suspects.
Dagan, 47, was allegedly killed for reporting some drug peddlers in her neighbourhood to the police which led to their arrest.
But another report said she was killed by some internet fraudsters after she complained to the police about their activities.
