The Coalition of Professional Associations, Unions and stakeholders at Kogi State Specialist Hospital has called on the state government to provide greater support for the hospital.
The association appealed during a visit to the new Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Oluseyi Folagbade, on Monday in Lokoja.
Dr Simeon Oyiguh, the Chairman of the association, commended Gov. Ahmed Ododo for his decision to appoint Folagbade.
Oyiguh said the visit aimed to officially welcome the new CMD and address critical welfare and service issues affecting the hospital staff.
“We are here to not only welcome Folagbade but also to assure him of our unwavering support in repositioning the hospital for better service delivery,” Oyiguh remarked.
Furthermore, Oyiguh appealed to the state government to expedite the process of staff promotions, as this would enhance motivation and contribute to improved performance across the board.
In response, Folagbade reassured the hospital staff that their welfare would remain a top priority.
He also emphasised the importance of maintaining high ethical standards and delivering top-notch healthcare services to the people of Kogi State and beyond.
“As someone familiar with the internal challenges of the hospital, I am committed to prioritising staff welfare and ensuring the highest standards of service.
“Together, we will strive to provide quality healthcare to the people of Kogi and beyond,” Folagbade stated.
