Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday paid a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The visit was disclosed by Ovation Group Chairman, Dele Momodu, in a social media post.
“Today, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, the former Vice President of Nigeria, visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He was accompanied by prominent political figures, including former Cross River State Governor Senator Liyel Imoke, former Sokoto State Governor Senator Aminu Tambuwal, and Senator Abdul Ningi,” the post read.
Obasanjo and Atiku served as Nigeria’s president and vice president respectively, from 1999 to 2007 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku has made multiple bids for the presidency, most recently in the 2023 general election as the PDP’s candidate.
The meeting between the two political heavyweights is seen by many as a significant development, though details of their discussion were not disclosed.
