Despite losing his polling unit on Election Day, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has won the election conducted in his home state, Adamawa.
Officials results were announced on Tuesday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.
Atiku polled 410,266 votes to defeat Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who got 378,078 votes.
The AAC polled 282 votes, ADC: 3,989, ADP: 329 while the SDP got 978 votes.
Total number of registered voters was put at 1,959,322. Number of accredited voters was 874,920. A total number of 860,756 votes were cast. Valid Votes were put at 811,534 while 49,222 votes were rejected.
Buhari clinched 11 of the state’s 21 local government areas while Atiku won 10.
The PDP lost Adamawa to Buhari in 2015 presidential election.
