Mohammed Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has now tested negative for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Mr Abubakar was first confirmed to have contracted the virus on March 19 and was subsequently transferred to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment.
The 31-year-old, however, confirmed on Monday that he has tested negative twice for COVID-19.
“I have just received my second consecutive negative result,” he told PREMIUM TIMES, “My discharge is currently being processed, and I hope to be home this evening.”
Abubakar had made a video shared by his father on social media on April 2, revealing the progress of his treatment.
In the video, he called on Nigerians to come together to fight the deadly disease.
