Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid, are the latest European side to show interest in Nigeria striker, Odion Ighalo.
Earlier in the week, reports in the Italian media claimed Roma were in the hunt for the Watford hitman and now the 2013/14 La Liga champions have joined the queue of potential suitors.
According to British newspaper, Mirror, Atletico scouts have watched him at least five times this season and are ready to make a £12m summer move.
Ighalo, 26, has had an unbelievable 2015 scoring 30 goals and 14 thus far in the league which has seen the Hornets ride as high as seventh.
Diego Simeone’s side are looking for a new striker this summer as Jackson Martinez has been a huge flop since his £25m move from Porto in the summer.
Martinez has even been linked with a loan move to Tottenham and Chelsea with Atletico keen to offload the 29-year-old.
Watford coach, Quique Sanchez Flores, knows it would be a difficult task to keep the Nigerian at Vicarage Road beyond the winter.
The Spanish tactician foresees a summer exit for his top marksman, wishing “I hope and believe he will finish the season with Watford.”
