Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for their ninth Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) final following a 4-2 penalty victory over Cameroon on Tuesday night.
With the game tied at goalless after regulation and extra time, both teams headed for the spots to decide who advances to Saturday’s final.
Onome Ebi, Rashidat Ajibade, Ngozi Ebere and Asisat Oshoala calmly slotted home with the Indomitable Lions missing twice.

The victory is the fourth time the Nigerians have outclassed their neighbours at this stage of the competition.
Although, this time around they had to dig deep, playing second fiddle for most of the encounter.
What this means is that Thomas Dennerby’s ladies have booked a place in next year’s Women’s World Cup in France.

They will face either Mali or South Africa in the final.
The Nigerians have clinched the title eight out of the last 10 editions.
The other two went the way of Equatorial Guinea.
