Comedian turned actor Ayo Makun popularly known as AY Comedian has revealed the reason for his fall out with fellow comedian Basketmouth.
In a recent question and answer session on Instagram, AY claimed that he did not have issues with Basketmouth but that the latter had an “uncontrollable superiority complex.”
The 50-year-old noted that he had to avoid Basketmouth’s “incessant childishness”, as such became necessary for his own sanity.
The filmmaker gave these explanations when a fan asked him, “@aycomedian, do you really have any issues with Basketmouth?”
In response, the 30 Days in Atlanta producer said, “I don’t have issues with him. But people having unnecessary issues with you is the price you sometimes pay for being progressive.”
“He has been battling with his uncontrollable SUPERIORITY COMPLEX for the longest. So avoiding his incessant childish.”
“In other words, the both of you don’t talk,” another fan asked again.
“We only talk to those who want to talk to us. Does this make sense?” AY replied.
In August last year, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, spoke about his beef with AY Makun, as he stated that the latter “messed around with loyalty.”
The 43-year-old disclosed this in an interview with TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Ebuka asked about the fight with AY during the conversation and Basketmouth revealed that he fell out with his fellow comedian because he ‘messed’ with loyalty, stating that they have made peace with each other.
“He came in my space; messed with loyalty by saying something to my lawyer Magnus that I told him in private. It was nothing but it was enough to cause a rift and have me put up the walls. We made peace and he apologised. I have no single problem with AY as claimed. We don’t talk.”
“We made peace and he apologised,” he said.
