Comedian and actor, AY, has expressed his disappointment at Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, after the team crashed out of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia on Tuesday.
In a post to Instagram after the match, AY labelled Rohr a “mumu” coach for not making the necessary substitution when most of his players were already exhausted.
“Mumu coach… 6 minutes to go. Your defenders were obviously tired. Bring in Ebuehi and John Ogu or Joel Obi to block the midfield with fresh strength. I have never been this pained in my life. Defend your freaking goal mumu,” he wrote.
The Super Eagles lost to Argentina 2-1 in a game in which they only needed a draw to ensure a place in the second round of the FIFA 2018 world cup in Russia.
Lionel Messi opened the scoring for Argentina in the first half which ended one nil. However, Nigeria bounced back from the spot with Victor Moses netting.
In the 86th minute, the Nigerian defence couldn’t hold the pressure from the Albeceleste’s attack as Marcos Rojo found the back of the net to secure a place for Argentina who will now be meeting France in the knock-out stage.
