The Financial Times has listed BlackHouse Media (BHM), a communications consultancy in Nigeria, among Africa’s fastest-growing companies for the second consecutive year.

The FT ranking of Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies 2024 was compiled in collaboration with global data and business intelligence platform, Statista.

The list ranks independent African companies by their organic, internally stimulated compound annual growth rate, in revenue for the period under review.

BHM’s founder and CEO Ayeni Adekunle said support from clients and partners across the world has been instrumental to the company’s growth.

“This recognition is further validation of our strategic vision and our ambition to build the first truly global communications services company with African roots,” he added.

On Friday, he wrote on social media, “What are we attempting to build? The first global communications services company from Africa. A truly international company with a commitment to Africa. I see it when I close my eyes. I see it when I open them. I see it in my dreams. I feel it in my body.”

BHM debuted on the list in 2023. This year it is featured at number 89.

Africa editor of FT David Pilling said, “BHM has distinguished itself, displaying fast growth, made even more impressive having achieved it during the years of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Originally founded in Lagos in 2006 by Ayeni, a former journalist, BHM has, over the years, solidified its position as a leading communications and public relations consultancy in Africa.

The company currently has a staff strength of about 100 professionals operating in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and across Africa, as well as in England, Scotland and the United States.

Its client roster includes Heineken, MTN, MultiChoice and The Macallan.
