Nigerian celebrities like Rita Dominic, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Bolanle Olakanni have condemned the jokes comedian, AY and Helen Paul, made about the sexual assault allegation against Kemen of Big Brother Naija.
Kemen, from Akwa Ibom, was disqualified from the reality show after he got into bed with fellow housemate, TBoss, without her permission.
Performing at the comedy show, ‘Warri Again’, held on Good Friday in Warri, Delta State, AY and Helen Paul made inappropriate jokes about the incident.
Present at the show were the Big Brother Naija housemates.
While Helen Paul said “Kemen touched Tboss small”, AY joked that that men should understand what happened to the Kemen because of Konji.
According to AY, any man gripped by an urgent desire for sex can do anything.
The 30 Days in Atlanta star continued the joke at his well-attended AY Live show on Easter Sunday.
With the housemates invited on the stage, AY did not only objectify TBoss, he admonished his audience to “Please encourage this young man (Kemen). He no kill person. Make he come die?”
The comedian also repeated the joke about understanding the urge that can push a man to sexually assault a woman.
Below are some of the reactions by celebrities.
It is not rational to say that sexual misconduct or abuse of any kind is normal behaviour. We should not tolerate this school of thought

Guilt is one side of a nasty triad;D others are shame & stigma. These combine to blame women of crimes committed against them-Germaine Greer

I can’t for the life of me understand what AY was talking about saying he didn’t kill someone . Does he know what Kemens actions have done.

Kemen sexually violated Tboss. He did something that in any other country he would have already been arrested for !!!

The other housemates should take a stand and refuse to be in pictures or attend events with him at least for now .

I’d like to know why the organizers of BBNaija and sponsors still associated with Kemen after disqualifying him.
