Singer Ayra Starr has clinched two major awards at the 2025 MOBO Awards, held on Wednesday in Newcastle, United Kingdom.
The Mavin Records artiste won Best International Act, making her the first African female to claim the category.
She also took home Best African Music Act, becoming the first woman in 16 years to win the award.
Other winners at the event included Nigerian-British rapper Darkoo, who was named Best Female Act, while Central Cee won Best Male Act.
Popular podcast 90s Baby Show received the Best Media Personality award and Nigerian-born singer Odeal emerged as Best Newcomer.
Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, Ayra Starr gained prominence in 2021 with her hit song Bloody Samaritan.
Since then, she has remained a dominant force in African music, earning multiple accolades for her work.
