Singer Ayra Starr has finally hit one million streams on Spotify.
The excited 19-year-old took to Twitter on Wednesday to make the announcement.
She also thanked her fans for their support.
“We just hitttttt 1million listeners on @Spotify. Thank you so much my people, thank you for supporting me , thank you God,” she wrote.
The singer in December 2021, explained that she has been performing almost on a daily basis since October following questions on her vocal prowess.
“My loves, I’ve been performing almost every day since October. Of course, my voice is strained,” the ‘Bloody Samaritan’ singer tweeted.
Since the release of the single, Ayra has attained global success and has been nominated for several international awards including MOBO Awards and MTV Awards.
‘Bloody Samaritan’ received positive reception for its message and production. It peaked at number one on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 50, making Ayra Starr the first female artist in the history of the chart to reach number one with a solo song.
Signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, the 19-year-old caught the attention of the Nigerian audience with the release of her debut hit, ‘Away’, early this year.
In August, she released her debut album, 19 and Dangerous, which earned her the number 2 spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart in the same month.
