Singer Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has deleted a video of herself dancing to Naira Marley’s new song ‘Pxy Drip (I’m Back)’ following heavy criticism from Nigerians.
The backlash stems from the controversy surrounding Naira Marley, the Marlian Music boss, who was blacklisted in the music industry after the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at age 27, sparking outrage after old videos surfaced showing him being bullied by Naira Marley’s associate, Sam Larry.
Naira Marley was accused of involvement in Mohbad’s death but was later cleared after spending time in police custody.
Ayra Starr, 22, posted a video on TikTok and Snapchat on Thursday, showing herself dancing and whining her waist to Naira Marley’s newly released track.
The clip quickly went viral, drawing sharp criticism from Nigerians who viewed it as insensitive.
Sensing the public outrage, the Mavin Records star deleted the video from her Snapchat and TikTok pages.
However, despite taking it down, the clip had already circulated widely and she continues to face backlash.
