Jailed Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, better known as Baba Ijesha, has lost his father James Omiyinka.
The deceased was aged 95.
Fellow actor Yomi Fabiyi announced the death in an Instagram post on Saturday.
“Accept my condolences BABA IJESHA on the death of your father. May the spirit of your father never depart you, he will fight for you someday. Baba lived a good life,” Fabiyi wrote in his post.
The professed human rights ambassador also took a swipe at those he accused of framing Baba Ijesha for rape.
“We will continue to pray with you and hope someday the integrity of the judiciary will be restored in this matter. Take heart, senior man,” Fabiyi ended his post.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court sentenced Baba Ijesha to 16 years imprisonment in October last year for sexually assaulting a teenager.
The 14-year-old victim who was not named in court was under the care of comedian Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.
