Twitter users have begun reacting to the announcement by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to step back from their roles as senior members of Britain’s royal family and spend more time in North America.
Prince Harry and Meghan said in a statement on Wednesday that they hoped the move would allow them achieve financial independence and set up a charity while continuing some royal duties.
Buckingham Palace also said in a statement that it was ‘disappointed’ at the decision, adding that talks are still at an early stage.
Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, have severally clashed with the media over the attention given to their family.
