Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has described the late Bamidele Olumilua as “very upright and courageous”.
Mr Olumilua, former governor of old Ondo State, died in his Ikere-Ekiti residence in early hours of Thursday after a brief illness.
Tweeting afterwards, Mr Fayose said Ekiti and Nigeria would miss the former governor.
“With the death of Evangelist Bamidele Olumilua, Ekiti and indeed Nigeria have lost a very upright and courageous leader. He feared God and served humanity selflessly.
“Rest in Peace, Evangelist Bamidele Olumilua, former governor of old Ondo State,” he wrote.
Olumilua, according to a statement by his eldest son, Muyiwa, who is the Ekiti Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, would be buried on a later date.
The octogenarian was the governor of old Ondo State from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Third Republic.
