Singer-turned-politician Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W and his wife Adesua Etomi, an actress, have welcomed their second child, a baby boy.
Banky broke the news on his Instagram page on Wednesday in a video capturing his hands-on approach to family life since the birth of the baby.
In the video, Banky can be seen cooking and helping around the house, reflecting his belief that marriage is about mutual support, “100-100, not 50-50.”
Banky said that since the birth of their son, he has embraced various roles, from chef and housekeeper to homework helper and masseuse.
According to him, these roles are just part of being a present and supportive husband and father of two.
The politician also used the opportunity to advocate for gender equality and the importance of uplifting women.
“Supporting women’s economic power means doing my part in our home and community,” he wrote.
Banky, who is also pursuing a master’s in policy management at Georgetown University in the US, emphasised his commitment to advocating for working mothers and families.
“When we uplift our women, we uplift our world,” he added, encouraging other men to step up in their roles at home and beyond.
Adesua expressed her gratitude in the comment section, calling him “the best partner in the entire world,” and adding, “Nobody else I’d rather be doing this life with. Love you, bubba.”
The couple previously announced they were expecting a baby in a joint Instagram post on October 14.
The post celebrated their journey from being a couple to a family of four, with the actress playfully noting that if acting doesn’t work out, modelling is always a backup.
