Ousmane Dembele could be out for a month with a hamstring injury, Barcelona confirmed on Monday.
The France forward sustained the knock during the win over Real Sociedad on Sunday, although the club insists it has nothing to do with the surgery he had earlier in the season.
“The victory in Anoeta on Sunday has brought bad news in the shape of an injury Ousmane Dembele,” Barça said in a statement.
“After the game against Real Sociedad, Dembele had a problem with his left thigh and test have confirmed that the player has suffered a hamstring injury of the semitendinosus muscle that does not affect the area operated on earlier in the season.
“The injury will mean he will be out for a period of around three to four weeks.”
Dembele missed nearly four months earlier this season with a ruptured tendon, returning to action in January.
Barca paid Borussia Dortmund an initial fee of 105 million euros, rising to 140 million, for the 20-year-old last summer.
