The popular Abia born comedian, popularly known as Basketmouth, has hit out at bloggers for rushing to off load new materials on their platforms without checking their facts.
Basketmouth is angry that a tribute he paid to his brother, who died 10 years ago, was made to look like something that happened in 2015.
Returning from his Valentine’s Day show at the Apollo Centre in London, which was a sell-out, the humour merchant advised bloggers to take time to verify information at their disposal.
On Saturday, February 14, Basketmouth posted on Twitter that, “you’ll always be remembered, loved and cherished. RIP Kingsley Okpocha. I love you bro.”
According to him, the item was posted by some bloggers “as if I just lost my brother.
“Anyway, I lost my eldest brother on the 14th of Feb 2005, not 2 days ago,” Basketmouth later wrote.
“When our Nigerian bloggers copy and paste stories they don’t even investigate nor carry out proper research,” he fumed.
