Commissioner of finance in Bauchi State, Garba Akuyam, has resigned his position on the eve of supplementary election in the state.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had billed supplementary election in the state for Saturday after elections were declared inconclusive.
Mr Akuyam, in his letter of resignation, thanked the governor, Muhammad Abubakar, and promised to answer future calls to serve the state.
He added that his decision to resign was of his own choice.
Akuyam was former director-general of the campaign team that saw the election of Abubakar as governor in 2015.
