Big Brother Naija season six tagged Shine Ya Eye officially began on Saturday. Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu hit the floor running with his sense of style.
This year, the organisers are having a special double launch which will climax on July 25 when the female housemates would be announced.
The winner of the show will get N90million, the highest since the show began.
Also, for the first time in the history of the show, UK residents will be able to stream the show via Showmax and participate in voting.
The organisers Multichoice had earlier announced that voting by SMS would not happen. Voting will only be done via the website and on MyDStv and MYGOtv apps.
The housemates already introduced are Boma, Saga, Yousef, Pere, Whitemoney, Niyi, Yerins, Jay Paul, Emmanuel, Sammie and Cross — all males.
The Big Brother Naija season six house is decorated with a mezzanine floor measuring over 200sqm. The original house measures about 1800sqm with an additional 250sqm for support building services such as the presenter and artistes’ lounges and an art room.
The head of house room measures over 50sqm and is within the mezzanine floor. Also included in this floor is a new indoor games lounge with a trophy cabinet, a private executive lounge accessible only at specified periods.
This year, organisers paid great attention to details especially in interior design. For example, the executive lounge features green tufted upholstery with matching green walls and a wallpaper reminiscent of the rainforest.
In the indoor games lounge is a snooker board, table football and tennis. There is also a dinning area with the balcony railing lined with tribal design potted plants.
According to the organisers, all pieces in the house were locally sourced with about 75 artisans working on the project.
Due to the extra floor, there are 14 hand-held cameras and 37 que ball cameras capable of seeing the housemates at all times.
