Big Brother Naija star Alex Asogwa aka Alex Unusual has made a dramatic return to social media with a captivating video released on Tuesday, May 21.
The video begins with Alex uninstalling X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok apps on her phone followed by a transition to a serene environment that quickly turns gloomy as messages filled with accusations and slander flood in.
In the video, the 28-year-old expresses her humanity, highlighting that she breathes and bleeds just like everyone else. She points out that while she often defends others, there is no one to defend her.
She addresses issues of bullying, false narratives, lies, and humiliation.
“My life is expected to be your entertainment even when I don’t want to entertain.
“’Always take the highway. That’s growth,” they say.
“I’ll tell you something.
“You keep taking the highway and people will step on you.
“They’ll keep walking over you till you’re six feet under and they’ll continue to walk over your grave. Especially people who will never be up to half of who you are right now in the totality of their pathetic, miserable time on earth,” she says in the video.
Citing Section 24 of the 2015 Cybercrime Act, she tags those who ruin other peoples’ reputations for engagement and money online cyberbullies.
Captioned “I’ll take the high road on my own terms,” the video has received endorsement from many people on social media.
Celebrities like Bimbo Ademoye, Don Jazzy, and Adekunle Gold have shown their support, applauding Alex’s bravery.
Alex deactivated her social media accounts amid allegations of being one of comedian AY Makun’s mistresses, purportedly contributing to the breakdown of his marriage to Mabel Makun.
Earlier in January, Alex revealed that she had lost a significant deal due to false allegations made against her.
Her return to social media marks a powerful stance against online bullying and the spread of false information.
She did not say anything about AY Comedian in the video.
