Kwayi Tukura, brother of former Big Brother Naija housemate Beauty has reacted to be backlash received after defending his sister’s actions which led to her disqualification from the show.
Beauty was disqualified on Sunday after receiving three strikes over an altercation with Groovy, Chomzy and Ilebaye.
Reacting to the disqualification in an Instagram post on Monday, Kwayi defended his sister, saying that Beauty gave the best content on the show and acted a perfect script for viewers’ pleasure.
However, following backlash from the fans of the show, Kwayi retracted his earlier statement and apologised, saying he was only trying to protect his younger sister.
He wrote, “Basically, I appreciate the support given her by people who don’t even know her. My point was that she’s human, and of course, she will work on managing her emotions better. I also definitely wouldn’t encourage her to display her emotions in that manner. The video was not an indication of supporting violence in the Big Brother house.
“I deeply regret if that message came across wrongly. That video is also not the viewpoint of @beautytukura on the matter, nor is it that of her management team.
“It was mine, and I hope everyone offended by it will realise my true intent for making it. It was just a brother trying to stand up for his baby sister.”
Beauty got a strike last Saturday for assaulting Ilebaye over an argument about Groovy. The native of Taraba State has also been accused of being too “controlling and struggling with her esteem over her persistent demand of exclusivity from Groovy”.
