Actress-TV host Nancy Isime has said that being Nigerian is mentally and physically exhausting.
Nancy said this in an Instagram post on Wednesday during the #EndSARS memorial protest.
According to the actress, it was heartbreaking for her to see the only photos and videos of police brutality at the Lekki Toll Gate.
“Being Nigerian is honestly So mentally and physically exhausting! Coming online now and seeing all the heartbreaking videos and photos from the Lekki Massacre Memorial happening today in Lagos is Just 💔,” she wrote.
The #EndSARS memorial protest was led by singer Falz and comedian Mr Macaroni.
Meanwhile, singer Yemi Alade also joined in commemorating the first anniversary of the #EndSARS protest. The 32-year-old shared a video of herself singing her song ‘Dignity’ as a way of adding her voice to the memorial protests.
The song which features Angelique Kidjo speaks against oppression and brutality.
Yemi Alade shared the music video on Instagram with the hashtag “We will never forget.”
