Actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has congratulated her colleague Kehinde Bankole for bagging the best actress in a lead role at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).
The best lead actress category, which is considered one of the toughest categories, was decided by a jury as announced by the organisers prior to the event.
Kehinde beat Funke Akindele, Ireti Doyle, Omowunmi Dada, Segilola Ogidan and others who were nominated in the same category, making her a two time AMVCA winner.
After the award ceremony which was held over the weekend, Kehinde who won for her role in Adire, posted a video of herself and Toyin Abraham on her Instagram account.
In the video uploaded on May 12, Toyin who was visibly excited over her friend’s win, could be seen hailing the actress.
Toyin called Kehinde Bankole “best actress” repeatedly and “best actress in Africa”, leaving Kehinde blushing over the compliments.
