Sonia, the daughter of founder and CEO of Genevieve Magazine, Betty Irabor, has been appointed editor of the publication.
Her mother made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday.

She followed up with a congratulatory message on Friday.
Sonia started writing for the magazine as a 13-year-old with the column, Teen Zone.
She served as assistant editor and UK correspondent of the magazine before her elevation to the post of editor.
In an interview with YNaija earlier in the year, she spoke of her plan for Genevieve Magazine: “The journey is far from over and there is still a great deal of unchartered territory for us. We want to keep redefining the magazine and keep giving our readers – old and new – something fresh and exciting to look forward to, to be inspired by and to fall in love with.”
