Big Brother Naija 2018 winner, Miracle Igbokwe, on Saturday expressed delight at the hero’s welcome he got in his home state of Imo where a rally was held in his honour.
The well-celebrated pilot was received by Governor Rochas Okorocha and other government officials when he arrived earlier in the week.
Hundreds of people also lined the street to welcome their famous son home.
The 23-year-old came home to banners welcoming him as an ambassador of education among others
People came out in numbers to celebrate him, singing and chanting his name and blowing horns.
Posting on Instagram on Saturday, Miracle wrote: “See the way my people welcomed meh o… Oh, Lord!!! Chai! Wow wow…. everywhere… really appreciate…… thank you Lord.”
Several pictures and videos from his reception were posted on the photo-sharing platform.
Miracle emerged winner of Big Brother Naija on April 22.
He won N25million cash prize, an SUV and other prizes bringing the value of his winning to N45million.
Another Imo indigene, Nina Onyenobi, came fifth.
Governor Okorocha’s son-in-law and chief of staff, Uche Nwosu, was the first to announce that the state would honour the two for making them proud in the reality TV show.
“My special gifts await Miracle and Nina for making our great state proud and for promoting the free education and the rescue mission of the state government while in #bbnaija house,” Nwosu disclosed in a tweet.
