Actress Bimbo Ademoye has showered love on her colleague and mentor, Uduak Isong, whom she fondly calls “mother,” as she celebrates her birthday.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Bimbo shared heartfelt words alongside photos of the filmmaker, recounting how Uduak has been a blessing in her life.
She recalled instances where Uduak supported her even when overwhelmed with work, describing her as a partner, critic, and adviser.
“The one that holds a very special place in my heart. She calls me ‘my boo baby,’ I call her ‘mommy.’ I’ve been blessed with so many amazing women in my life, but you, you Uduak Isong Oguamanam, words can never express how much you mean to me.
“My gist partner, we laugh and giggle like little kids, she doesn’t judge, she definitely listens attentively. My casting director! Yes, there’s no movie that goes up on BIMBOADEMOYETV that mother didn’t approve the cast members.
“If she says it won’t work, then it won’t. My good luck charm. No matter how many times I call, she always picks. If I call and ask, ‘Mommy, are you busy?’ she responds with, ‘I can spare some minutes for you, baby.’
“Guys, please help me wish my mommy a very happy birthday. She deserves the world and everything in it. You people should go and look for where you will be staying o, because I’m going to give her the world. Na small remain make my savings complete. Happy birthday, the queen of my heart. Bimbo, who began her acting career in 2014 with the short film Where Talent Lies, has often credited Uduak Isong as her mentor and a major influence in her career.
In a 2018 interview with The Daily Independent, she revealed that Uduak played a key role in helping her break into the film industry.
She reiterated this in a 2023 interview with The Sun, where she emphasized that Uduak’s guidance allowed her to maintain her integrity while navigating Nollywood.
The actress has also been open about her strained relationship with her biological mother, whom she said abandoned her at the age of two, marking the first betrayal she ever experienced.
