Actress Bimbo Ademoye has said she will not be uploading the latest episode of Iya Barakat comedy skit on her YouTube channel today as a show of respect to Davido’s late son Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The Anilulapo star made the announcement in an Instagram post on Friday, noting that Ifeanyi’s death and others who died this week were heart-wrenching.
She wrote: “Good morning all. As last respect to baby Ify and all the souls lost this week, Iya Barakat would not be posted today. Apologies to everyone. This is one of the most heart-wrenching things I’ve ever experienced in my life. May God give them the strength to overcome.”
In the comedy skit, Bimbo plays the lead character Iya Barakat, a self-acclaimed therapist who holds funny sessions with her patients.
Ifeanyi died by drowning on Monday, October 31, eleven days after celebrating his third birthday.
Although the family has not yet released an official statement about the boy’s death at the time of filing this report, eight of Davido’s domestic staff were interrogated by the police over the tragic incident which occurred at Davido’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.
Six of them have been released while the nanny and cook remained in custody at the time of filing this report.
Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the detention of the two domestic workers said, “I spoke with the DPO and he said the nanny and the cook have been detained. Other domestic workers brought in for questioning were released.”
