Actress and media personality Bimbo Akintola has opened up about the financial disparity among her colleagues, suggesting that some of them supplement their income by engaging in relationships with politicians to maintain their luxurious lifestyles.
In a recent interview circulating on social media, Bimbo explained that she often questions her colleagues about their extravagant living, as she doesn’t consider herself wealthy.
She revealed that people frequently approach her, comparing her financial situation to that of her colleagues and she’s quick to clarify that she isn’t as well-off as some of them.
Bimbo highlighted that some actresses may have wealthy family backgrounds or engage in additional ventures to support their opulent lifestyles.
“Some of the lifestyles we see on social media might be real, but if they are, where does the money come from? People come to me and say, ‘Look at these actresses, they are very rich,’ and I tell them, I am not rich.”
She went on to question the source of her colleagues’ wealth, noting the relatively modest income generated from film sales.
“We all know how much movies sell, so I wonder, is it from their family money, or are there other businesses they’re involved in? We’ve heard about actresses dating politicians, and we know such things happen.”
This conversation mirrors previous comments made by actor Funsho Adeolu.
A few months ago, he expressed similar concerns, questioning how his female colleagues could afford their lavish lifestyles when he despite charging more per movie drives a more modest car.
Funsho implied that some actresses use their involvement in the industry as a front, while their actual source of wealth lies elsewhere.
