Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma were among the prominent dignitaries who attended the double celebration of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo’s 50th birthday and his 25th wedding anniversary with Pastor Modele Fatoyinbo. The event, held at the couples’ Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) in Abuja, drew political leaders, religious personalities and legal luminaries.
Key figures at the occasion included Anyim Pius Anyim, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Ibe Kachikwu, former Minister of State for Petroleum, and Stanley Uzochukwu, Chairman of Stanel Group.
Religious leaders present were Pastor Paul Enenche, Pastor Jerry Eze, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Archbishop JohnPraise Daniel, and Pastor Bolaji Idowu. Also delivering a virtual message were Bishop David Oyedepo and his wife Faith Oyedepo.
In his remarks, Obasanjo commended the couple for their milestone, emphasising the biblical significance of their 25-year union.
“Now, as for the next event, 25 years from now, I wish you well in advance. As you know, I may not be able to attend—not because I am unwell, but simply because I will be elsewhere permanently,” Obasanjo quipped.
Representing former President Goodluck Jonathan, Anyim congratulated the couple on behalf of the ex-leader, while legal luminaries Mike Ozekhome and Alex Izinyon praised the Fatoyinbos for their societal impact.
The ceremony featured a renewal of marriage vows, an exchange of rings and prayers for unity. Pastor Ashimolowo reminded the couple of the spiritual responsibilities within their union, urging them to uphold love and mutual respect.
Modele Fatoyinbo reaffirmed her lifelong devotion, declaring, “According to the word of God, I submit myself to you as your wife continually, from this moment onward. We shall continue to be one.”
Gospel artistes Mercy Chinwo and Chris Morgan added vibrancy to the event with their performances, leaving the audience inspired.
