Birmingham City fans turned to social media in their numbers to celebrate Obafemi Martins heroics in the EFL Cup victory over Arsenal in 2011.
The former Inter Milan and Levante forward made a name for himself in the club’s history with his last-gasp effort that dented the Gunners’ hopes of winning their first League Cup title under Arsene Wenger.
Martins took advantage of a mix-up between defender Laurent Koscielny and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to guide the Blues to their first English League Cup title in 48 years.
Since then, February 27th was set aside as Obafemi Martins Day to celebrate that superb goal.
On Tuesday, the 33-year-old who now plays for Shangai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League, joined a host of Blues fans to celebrate the Cup triumph.
