A power outage at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos disrupted the showing of the opening film at the Eko International Film Festival (EKOIFF) on Monday.
The blackout lasted for several hours that festival organisers had to reschedule the screening to Tuesday.
An interactive Skype call with director of CodeGirl, Lesley Chilcott, scheduled for 3pm and the screening of Uduak-Obong Patrick’s Just Not Married at 4pm were cancelled, leaving journalists, fans and other festival-goers frustrated, annoyed and disappointed.
Producer of Just Not Married, Judith Audu, had embarked on a social media campaign to draw fans to the screening.
Ironically, the film was one of the eight Nollywood productions showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival in September without any glitch.
