Controversial crossdresser Bobrisky has penned an emotional tribute to his late mother while reflecting on the heavy responsibilities he has shouldered since her death.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, Bobrisky opened up about the profound impact of his mother’s death, describing it as a heart-wrenching experience that has shaped his life and responsibilities since her passing.
The crosdresser reflected on the tragic loss of his mother, who passed away on October 28, 2008, in Mecca.
He shared that her final words to him were a heartfelt plea to take care of his elder brother.
“I remember 28 October 2008 you called me and said bobo Omo mi incase I don’t make it back to Nigeria pls take care of ur brother. I asked you why should I be the one to take care of my brother?
“You said because you feel I’m stronger and have got thick skin,” he recounted, expressing the pain of losing her the very next day.
“Sadly, the next day I heard you pass away in MECCA Saudi. I keep screaming mummy mummy but you are far gone from this world.”
Since her death, Bobrisky claimed to have taken on the responsibility of caring for his family, including his grandmother, who is now 87 years old and in good health.
He also stated that he supports his elder brother, who has a family of his own.
“I’m still the one taking care of them till date. Mummy, ur baby need more strength to continue this responsibility,” he wrote.
He added that the year 2024 was particularly challenging for him, marked by significant financial losses and a controversial situation involving the EFCC related to currency issues.
He noted that sharing his struggles online often invites ridicule, as many have been anticipating his downfall.
“I went through hell in Nigeria as at 2024, I lost so much money.
“I can’t come online to cry because many of them will laugh at me because they have been waiting for this moment. Mummy, I need ur strength right now.
“I can’t say much here on the internet; all I need now is more strength,” he concluded.
In April 2024, Bobrisky was arrested and charged with multiple counts related to the abuse and mutilation of the Nigerian currency, the Naira.
The EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Command accused him of spraying and tampering with N490,000 at social events, actions that contravened Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
On April 12, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, sentenced Bobrisky to six months imprisonment without the option of a fine. The court emphasized the need to deter others from engaging in similar offenses.
Following his release in August, allegations surfaced claiming that Bobrisky had bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.
These claims originated from a viral audio recording released by social media influencer VeryDarkMan. Bobrisky publicly denied the allegations, stating that he had served his jail term and had not bribed any officials.
In response to the bribery allegations, the EFCC launched an investigation to ascertain their validity.
The commission’s leadership confirmed that the EFCC Chairman ordered an immediate probe into the matter.
Additionally, Bobrisky filed a fundamental rights lawsuit against the EFCC and the National Assembly. However, in November, the court struck out his suit, upholding the EFCC’s actions as lawful.
